How do I calculate hours worked?
Subtract the start time from the end time, deduct unpaid breaks, then convert the minutes to decimal hours for payroll. The time card calculator does all three steps.
What is 45 minutes in decimal hours?
0.75 hours. Minutes are divided by 60, so 45 ÷ 60 = 0.75 — not 0.45, which is the error the decimal converter exists to prevent.
Does this replace payroll software?
No. It calculates and records hours accurately, but there is no approval workflow, multi-employee roster or payroll export.
